"You have proven yourself," it said. "It is time you knew the truth."

Lena frowned. "What truth?"

The First One gestured to the holographic display. Images flashed-ships, battles, worlds burning.

"The Swarm, the Ancients, the void-they are all connected. They are weapons, created by a species from another dimension. They have been fighting for eons, and we are caught in the middle."

"How do we stop them?"

The First One handed her a new crystal. "This contains the location of their home world. If you destroy it, the war ends."

Lena hesitated. Her crew was watching.

"I'll go," she said.

"No," Commander Reyes stepped forward. "We'll go together."

The fleet launched, shooting toward the enemy home world. The journey was long, the space between stars dark and cold.

The home world loomed ahead-a planet of shadow, its surface pulsing with dark energy.

"All ships, engage," Lena ordered.

The starfire fleet dove into the enemy defenses, cannons blazing, missiles streaking. The mothership was massive, its weapons devastating.

"We need to get inside," Lena said.

She flew her ship into the mothership's landing bay, Reyes beside her.

They fought through the corridors, their weapons dropping alien guards. The core was ahead, pulsing with dark energy.

"Plant the charges," Lena said.

Reyes set the explosives, and they ran.

The explosion shook the mothership. The dark energy flickered, then died.

Lena turned her ship toward New Eden, the fleet forming up behind her.
